Animal Feed & Pet Food Manufacturing

In animal feed and pet food manufacturing, protein- and fat-derived odour compounds released during the cooking of raw materials — primarily hydrogen sulphide, ammonia, and mercaptan compounds — can create serious disturbance in neighbouring communities. Mould and insect contamination in storage areas also threatens product safety.

Ozone addresses this sector's dual challenge within a single infrastructure: 70–90% removal rates for H₂S- and ammonia-derived odour compounds in chimney exhaust applications are reported in the literature. Continuous 0.1–0.3 ppm ozone application in storage areas interrupts mould spore germination and insect development cycles, providing a reliable alternative to chemical fumigation. The residue-free ozone system preserves the product's organic or natural status.
